Our Trip of a lifetime!

Our children Nicholas & Rebecca have been begging us to visit them in Sicily for the past year, we finally took them up on their offer on September 6, 2006 . After a 10 hour flight we arrived at Milan Airport (picture) to find out that Aitalia Airlines (our connecting flight to Sicily, was on strike!! It was 5:00 AM and the airport was literally asleep. When we went through customs we woke up the person at the counter! He didn't even look at our passports as I handed him Bob's ! We finally found someone who spoke English and she told us our flight would take off late but we would be going to Sicily! We finally arrived in Sicily and then had to wait over an hour for our luggage because of the strike! Then our vacation began!

Rebecca did a magnificent job planning our site seeing. We spent the next 5 days eating and drinking our way through Sicily. We saw our first active volcano . Etna was active and it was a site to behold ! We visited Catania, Caltagirone, Agriturismo, Agrigento, Taormina, and Siracusa. We had some of the best pasta known to man. And I can't say enough about the ice cream, I had some every day we were there!

The drivers in Sicily are CRAZY to say the least. There are no speed limits at least none that are obeyed , and Nick and Becca drive almost as crazy as the Sicilians ! We always road in the back seat !

We have to thank our children for a beautiful vacation that we will treasure forever.
